Missoni-Erbin und Stil-Ikone Margherita Missoni erwartet nicht nur ihr zweites Kind, sondern hat eine eigene Kinderkollektion aufgelegt Die Kollektion mit dem ebenso einfachen, wie symbolischen Namen Margherita, startet mit dieser Sommersaison und wird völlig unabhängig von der Marke ihrer berühmten Familie geführt.
Margherita, bereits Mutter eines kleinen Ottos, hat auch schon ihre eigene Website für die Kollektion im Netz. Große Teile sind aber auch über Yoox erhältlich. Wie diese Sachen hier:
Im Augenblick gibt es Produkte für Babys (Jungs und Mädchen) und eine kleine Kollektion für Mädchen im Kleinkindalter. Die Linie ist preislich im gehobenen Kindersegment zu suchen, ohne nun übertriebene Preise zu haben.
Margherita Missoni erklärt auf ihrer Website die Hintergründe dieses Projekts:
In my childhood, every day after school my brother, my sister and I would go to my mother’s office. Full of pencils and markers, fabrics and beads; it was great fun to be a child and to express my creativity through drawing and playing dress up in all of the wonderful clothes.[...] I dreamed about the life I envisioned and about one day growing up to become a designer like my mother and her mother before her. It's often like that: one travels far, only to realize that it was right next to you.
My husband and I share a very strong sense of belonging to the town outside of Milan where we both grew up and we would love for our baby son Otto (and the other children to come....!) to experience that: to know that they are free to express, create and explore, but know there is a place where they can always go back to. [...] I want the Margherita kids collection to expose Otto and children like him to a colorful world of possibilities because -why not?
As I embark on this new venture, the Margherita collection for kids, I am creating my own brand which has roots in my background and comes to life through my experiences: the things I've seen, the people I’ve met, the places I've been. My hope for this brand is to nourish a creative instinct and that same freedom dressing I was so lucky to grow up with. The possibilities of mixing and matching are infinite; both children and parents can choose whatever they like without ever going wrong.
